Kristi and Adam Tie the Knot in Martoca... lovely!

Kristi was very much in control and visibly happy and proud of her wedding party. Needless to say she looked stunning! She needs to send me her pictures so I can show you:)

Everyone was amazed at the beauty of Martoca Beach Garden. The flowers and vegetation surrounding the lovely setting for their wedding were vibrant with color. The weather was perfect and the guests were enjoying every minute of their vacation/wedding. The night before they had a joyful evening in another popular location called La Laguna. They had activities all week and as I spoke to the wedding party they all seemed to be having the time of their lives.
It is an honor and our pleasure to welcome the newest members of our family to Martoca Beach Garden. I truly enjoyed this wedding party. They had such a good time and they had excellent ideas for their decorations and ceremony. Our wedding planner Laura simply put it all together and added a few touches like these awesome center pieces. For information on these packages please email us at

Wedding by EM-Vallarta for Jason and Virginia Nov 6, 2010

I enjoyed this wedding. Very well done and organized to perfection. I love this style of elegance without going overboard. Simple and chic and very intimate. The family and friends that were present were very happy. They came up to us and congratulated us on our venue many times. I took a few pictures that I will show you here however, when the professional pictures arrive I will share those as well.

The ceremony on the beach with the tequila shots and Mariachi was awesome! Congratulations Virginia and Jason. Thank you for choosing Martoca Beach Garden for your special day!

Perfect Weather For Your Special Day

My friends from the USA and Canada always ask me when is the best time to come visit Puerto Vallarta area either for vacation or a wedding. A combination of both, which is the advantage of a destination wedding in the first place since it provides both a vacation and a wedding all in one trip, is my recommendation for all brides.

In my opinion as a native of this area I can tell you I love both the summer and the winter time. We actually only have two seasons here, rainy season and dry season. The bulk of the rain falls in the summer months from June through September and most of it comes around sunset time or at night however the rest of the year is pretty much dry with sporadic showers in between. The summer days are much longer and clearer than the winter months. You can see clear across the bay after a good rainy night. I love it. The days are so long you can do everything under the sun for 13 hours or so. The humidity is dramatically increased compared to the dry season and there is no early morning or late evening brisk breeze however the breeze off the ocean is constant and if you are in the pool or beach you will not notice the weather at all. The ones who suffer are the ones who work here and have to see you with envious eyes as they go about their daily chores. If you like off-road vehicles and outdoor activities the summer is the most fun. Of course the fact that everything is half price in my opinion more than makes up for the humidity.

For a great weather report on Riviera Nayarit or Puerto Vallarta visit this link which will go into much more detail and statistics about the temperature and rain probabilities in Puerto Vallarta area. Plan your vacation and wedding accordingly.

Although we cannot promise it will not rain, I would consider it extreme bad luck if you happen to have a rainy forecast for your wedding during the dry months. My favorites months for weddings are November and December because the weather has just turned cooler and the sunsets are amazing plus the vegetation is much more lush and green immediately after the rainy season which ends in early October. February and March and April are amazing weather months for weddings as well with all the flowers blooming all over. Although it is mango season, my favorite fruit, I believe November and December are better for scenery since the vegetation is still so green and vibrant right after the rains. January, February and March are famous for whale watching though... You see, deciding what time of year is best is just terribly difficult when it is so good year around! So, enjoy the facts about the weather in the article I linked here and please visit Martoca Beach Garden for more information on destination weddings or anything you would like to know about our lovely bay area.

"Sorpresa Mi Amor"... Sparks Will Fly!

With a spectacular sunset in the background the guests mingle and wait anxiously for the joyful newlyweds to take their long desired wedding pictures on the beach. The anxious groom awaits as well, for he knows something no one else does. The time will come for a fabulous dinner and some line dancing later on in the festive evening and sometime in between the dessert and the polka, a well prepared groom will reveal his ultimate surprise, the gift for his bride that will guarantee nothing else will matter all night. What do you have in mind?

If you are not prepared with your surprise as a groom, you are in risk of starting your marriage in the hole when the idea is to accumulate as many brownie points as possible from the beggining. You will need them soon enough, perhaps even that same evening!

Imagine this; just as your bride thinks all the special treats are over and it is just time to dance the night away... you make your move. This is when you bring out an encore of entertainment that is all about her. You could go with her favorite song performed live by her favorite local band or with a certain choreography by professional dancers and maybe the groom gets involved in the number, or, you bring out her favorite and most desired item that she thought was unattainable like the designer wedding cake or a certain musical group, a firework special,.. Yes, the one she really wanted but was sacrificed to keep within budget.

For the highest impact go with ultimate creativity; For instance, design lettering and symbols with a stove tubing with gas and fire that was previously hidden in the sand. With her name and yours enclosed in a symbol of love like a heart or her favorite flower or a butterfly. These will light up in flames just before the ocean line and it will remain lit throughout the night. Make sure no one knows except maybe your best friends. This should be done by turning all lights out and then light the gas just like a stove and with perfect timing, as if you were writing with a fountain pen of fire. Her response will be overwhelming. You can also do it with kerosene and channels created with a non-flammable material. However these are harder to conceal and you might sacrifice the surprise factor.

It can be anything she really would love, maybe phone a long lost best friend of hers and invite her and if she is one who is just out of luck at the moment and needs 400 extra bucks to make it down to the wedding then provide it for her a well. The key is to show how you planned it for a long time and with much care, detailed perfectly and of course show her how much you love her in front of everyone that is important to her in her special night. She will cherish this forever as will you.

With your triumphant display then you must go to your honeymoon suite and surprise her again. I am sure you have some great ideas for this since she has decided to marry you!

Buena Suerte!

Bride´s Review of Martoca Puerto Vallarta Wedding

"Hi all, I just wanted to put a little note out there to all the bride/groom that are looking for a venue I have found a great location with FANTASTIC service!!!!  The location is Martoca Beach Garden in Bucerias and "The Man" is James Basanez!!! He is absolutely wonderful!!!!  He has ideas that would knock your socks off and he is more than just a vendor, he is a friend!  There is never a time that you cannot get a hold of him, and he is so helpful in every way possible!  Whatever I want/need, he is right there with an answer and a good price ;)  He is the real reason why I choose to have a destination wedding in the first place!  The only people I communicate with is him and his coordinator Laura, they handle the rest from their!  When I first started planning, I was looking into the resorts over a private ground. I figured a resort is easier, they do weddings all the time and what can possibly go wrong!  Well let me tell you with what has gone wrong.  This is what I have experienced with MOST, but not all!  I will send an email and get a response within 24-48hrs, as you start asking more questions and wanting more specific answers the email response becomes delayed by a week or so.  I understand that people are busy but when it becomes a pattern, its unnecessary and frustrating, we can only do so much when were so far away!  The second thing I noticed, I become comfortable with a spokesman then down the road you get an email that the person no longer works their and that someone new will be taking over!  This happened to me at 3 different locations with 3 different people.  Enough said!!! I'm glad I started my research early, my wedding is not until March 2011 but after a stressful 5 months of trying to pick and choose a venue, my mind is now at ease!  The best thing about Martoca is the PRIVACY! That was a big key point for me.  James"Jimmy" is laid back, funny and he gives you that peace of mind that every destination bride is looking for!  If anyone is wanting more information, please feel free to contact me.  I will be more than happy to help out in anyway I can :)  Here is his website to view some photos."

Marriage Humor:If you do not laugh out loud at these don´t worry, you will soon enough! Welcome to "The Club" future brides and Grooms.
Wife: 'What are you doing?'
Husband: Nothing.
Wife: 'Nothing...? You've been reading our marriage certificate for an hour.'
Husband: 'I was looking for the expiry date.'

Wife: 'Do you want dinner?'
Husband: 'Sure! What are my choices?'
Wife: 'Yes or no.'

Husband: 'You always carry my photo in your wallet.. Why?'
Wife: 'When there is a problem, no matter how great, I look at your picture and the problem disappears.'
Husband: 'You see how miraculous and powerful I am for you?'
Wife: Yes! I see your picture and ask myself what other problem can there be greater than this one?'

Stress Reliever Girl: 'When we get married, I want to share all your worries, troubles and lighten your burden.'
Boy: 'It's very kind of you, darling, but I don't have any worries or troubles.'
Girl: 'Well that's because we aren't married yet.'

A newly married man asked his wife, 'Would you have married me if my father hadn't left me a fortune?'
'Honey,' the woman replied sweetly, 'I'd have married you, NO MATTER WHO LEFT YOU A FORTUNE!'

A wife asked her husband: 'What do you like most in me, my pretty face or my sexy body?'
He looked at her from head to toe and replied: ' I like your sense of humor!'

I hope you enjoyed these jokes. I thought they were hilarious and I thought you future brides and grooms should be fairly warned, haha
By the way, I have to sleep on the sofa tonight but the post was worth it, no?
